UK Mail was the first organisation to be licensed by Postcomm, the independent regulator, to provide a competitive postal service effectively ending 370 years of Royal Mail’s monopoly. It is the leading alternative to Royal Mail for business mail requirements and is the Business Post Group’s fastest growing division collecting six million mail items a day for over 700 customers, including some of the UK’s largest mailers.  The service operates via the Downstream Access (DSA) model, which means mail is collected, sorted, then consolidated and delivered into Royal Mail for “final mile” delivery.  

As well as providing a two-day, time-definite delivery service for sorted and unsorted mail and a variety of international mail services, UK Mail continues to launch an ongoing range of product and pricing innovations. One of the most recent is Agent for Access, allowing VAT exempt customers such as financial institutions and charities to get the delivery aspect of the service free from VAT.

Soon to be launched is our new i-mail service, giving customers the option to send letters to print and envelope directly in UK Mail’s sort centres, meaning UK Mail is the first private UK company to deliver mail next working day.

UK Mail’s continued focus on product development and its consistently high level of service performance has resulted in the business winning a number of high profile contracts. Its emphasis upon service delivery has also resulted in UK Mail winning the Downstream Access Supplier of the Year Award at the Mail Awards in 2006 and 2007.
